The NBA Rank returns for its 14th season, showcasing the‌ league’s top players. Who has⁢ made the cut for this year’s top 100?

How do MVP contenders like ⁢Nikola‌ Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and‌ Luka Doncic rank? Which emerging talents are making their first appearance? And where does⁢ LeBron James stand on our list as he prepares for his milestone 22nd season⁤ as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer?

To finalize ⁤our NBA Rank predictions, we enlisted an expert panel ⁣to assess player ⁤matchups⁣ from over 15,000 possible combinations. Voters ‌were prompted with, “Which player will have⁤ a better performance ‍in 2024-25?” as they forecasted how each athlete would ⁣fare this season.

Our ⁣countdown begins with the ⁢rankings of players Nos. 100-51, featuring future Hall of Famers, previous ‌Defensive Players ⁤of the Year, and current (and former) Nova Knicks. The unveiling continues⁣ on Wednesday with players Nos. 50-11, followed by the top 10 players on Thursday.

Note: ‍ESPN’s⁢ NBA ‌Rank panel, which includes over 150⁣ reporters, editors, producers, and analysts, was tasked with ranking players based on their expected⁢ contributions—both quality ‍and ⁤quantity—for ⁢the 2024-25 season only.

At 6-foot-3, ⁢Simons may be a small guard who can be targeted defensively at times.⁣ Following⁢ the ⁤Damian Lillard trade, his usage rate was notably high, which likely contributed⁣ to him achieving‍ his lowest ⁤effective field goal⁣ rate since the 2019-20 season. Nevertheless, even amidst increased defensive pressure, Simons concluded‌ last⁣ season with a career-high shooting percentage of 65.8% from within three‌ feet of the basket, according ‍to Basketball-Reference. –⁢ Chris Herring

Last ‍season ⁤with the Warriors, Paul started in the fewest games (18) of his career, which understandably ‍affected his performance. ‌He‌ recorded career lows in points (9.2), assists (6.8), steals (1.2), and field goal attempts (8.1). However,‍ these numbers are likely to improve now that he is back to starting alongside Victor Wembanyama. Paul’s role ⁣in San Antonio goes beyond the‍ court; he is expected ⁤to help the Spurs restore their championship⁢ culture while also playing a vital role⁤ in ⁣Wembanyama’s growth. With‌ a capable starting point guard like Paul‍ on the team, expect more offensive efficiency⁢ and improved execution during critical moments for the⁤ Spurs. — Michael Wright

As he enters his 18th NBA season, Conley continues to be remarkably reliable. A‍ key indicator of his influence on ⁢the Timberwolves is ⁣their record: they achieved a 53-23 win-loss record with Conley as a starter and held a ‍3-3 record ⁣in⁣ the six games he⁣ missed before making ‌a ⁢deep⁤ playoff run to the Western Conference finals. He remains an exceptional facilitator, averaging 5.9 ⁢assists per game,⁤ and has thrived playing⁢ off the ball alongside ‍Anthony Edwards,‌ shooting a ‌career-best 44.2% from beyond the arc last ⁢season. — ‍Tim MacMahon

Perhaps Jones should be rated higher on this list, considering his recent performance where he earned⁢ a spot on the‍ All-Defensive first team ⁤and placed fifth in the Defensive Player ⁣of⁢ the Year voting. In his third year, he became a dependable 3-point shooter, boasting a percentage of 41.8%. It might⁣ be time to increase his attempts in ⁣this area. As ⁢a‌ durable and tenacious defender,⁢ Jones could team up ⁣with Dejounte⁤ Murray in small-ball lineups, creating a formidable⁤ defensive duo‍ that could pose significant⁣ challenges for opponents this season. Given‍ that he has started at least 66 games each year in his career and continues to grow, ‌Jones rightfully deserves a place in New⁣ Orleans’ starting ⁤lineup. — Wright

Horford’s return to this list in his age-38 season speaks⁣ volumes about his unwavering work ethic and the versatility he brings to ⁤the champions.‍ The Celtics will ⁤likely continue to manage his minutes closely. However, with Kristaps Porzingis⁢ starting the season on the sidelines, ⁢Horford is ⁣set to once again be a vital contributor to the Celtics’ aspirations for a title, even at this ⁣later stage in his career. –‍ Tim ⁣Bontemps

The Wolves‍ have ⁢placed substantial faith in him, trading away former franchise cornerstone ‌Towns, just‍ as ‍McDaniels’ salary saw a steep rise from $3.9 million to $23 million. After a challenging summer representing ⁢Team USA at the FIBA World Cup, ⁢Reaves needed some‍ time to establish ⁣his rhythm last season after making ‌a strong impression.

The ‌scenario in the 2023 playoffs reflects a small drop in NBA⁣ Rank, which parallels his shooting efficiency from Year 2 (52.9% from the field and 39.8% from beyond ⁢the arc) to Year 3 (48.6%/36.7%). This is compounded by L.A.’s shortened playoff journey after being eliminated in the first round. However, this ranking does ‍not take into account Reaves’ growth as a ‍playmaker and his achievement of playing all 82 games.
