2023 Sao Paulo Grand Prix: Drama as Charles Leclerc Crashes on Formation Lap
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc suffered a dramatic crash on the formation lap of the 2023 Sao Paulo Grand Prix, preventing him from even seeing the start lights.
Initially, it appeared that Leclerc had made a costly mistake, but it soon became clear that a hydraulic failure was to blame for his unfortunate incident. The Monegasque driver quickly expressed his frustration over the radio, lamenting his bad luck as his car spun sideways into the wall.
Leclerc’s crash resulted in his P2 grid position remaining empty when the other 19 drivers took the start. The chaos continued when a collision between Kevin Magnussen, Nico Hulkenberg, and Alex Albon forced the race to be red-flagged.
