BASEL, Switzerland – Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu is set to spearhead India’s challenge at teh swiss Open badminton tournament, which commences Tuesday at St. Jakobshalle in Basel. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) super 300 tournament will feature Sindhu, currently ranked world number 16 and the 2022 Swiss Open champion.
All-Indian Clashes Headline opening Rounds
The tournament kicks off with an all-Indian affair in the women’s singles first round,as Sindhu faces off against compatriot Malvika Bansod,ranked world number 28. In the men’s singles, another all-Indian clash is on the cards with Lakshya Sen, India’s top-ranked shuttler at world number 15, taking on HS Prannoy, the 2016 Swiss Open winner.
