Mississippi State Lands Kansas State Transfer Achor Achor
Mississippi State has bolstered its frontcourt for the upcoming season with the addition of Kansas State transfer Achor Achor.
Achor, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward, is set to join the Bulldogs after a somewhat turbulent start to his collegiate career which already includes stops at a junior college, Samford, and Kansas State.
Achor’s Journey to Starkville
Prior to college,Achor played prep basketball at Greenforest McCalep Academy in Georgia. He then played junior college basketball before transferring to Samford University where he had a successful season. During his time at samford, Achor started 33 games, averaging 16.1 points,6.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game while shooting 58.6% from the field. These extraordinary statistics showcased his potential as a significant contributor.
Kansas state Stint and SEC Prospect
Achor transferred to Kansas State last season, but his playing time was limited. He averaged 7.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in seven games, playing an average of 13.3 minutes per game. After the season, he entered the transfer portal and has now committed to Mississippi State, offering him a fresh start in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Achor’s arrival is expected to enhance Mississippi State’s frontcourt presence, providing additional size and experience.The Bulldogs hope Achor can rediscover the form he displayed at Samford and contribute substantially in the competitive SEC conference.
