Although it’s only preseason, Macklin Celebrini will be making his debut with the Sharks during their exhibition opener against the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday night.
This will also mark his first time playing at SAP Center, as he did not have the opportunity to participate in a game there while with the Jr. Sharks during the 2019-20 season.
It’s certainly a significant moment. Celebrini mentioned that his father, Rick Celebrini, who serves as the director of sports medicine and performance for the Golden State Warriors, will be present for the game.
The 2024 No. 1 overall draft pick is set to center Tyler Toffoli and Klim Kostin, forming the line he has skated with throughout the initial three days of camp.
In a lighthearted way, Celebrini commented on his developing chemistry with veteran scorer Toffoli, “I don’t know if we’re the Sedin brothers yet, but hopefully we can get there.”
Additionally, Celebrini was part of the top power-play unit during the morning skate alongside William Eklund, Mikael Granlund, Tyler Toffoli, and Luca Cagnoni.
