One significant issue constantly arises is the Damaged Vehicle Policy. Trying to save the industry money ultimately created an officiating challenge. So, that’s something we’ll continue investigating.
“My hope is to utilize technology in real time to detect potential issues on the track and address them promptly. I don’t believe we have an officiating issue; we have the best and brightest in the business. Yes, mistakes happen—they are human. Ideally, AI won’t be making calls anytime soon. But adjustments will be made. If John [Mullen], Elton, or Steve [Phelps] and I aren’t up before the Daytona 500 discussing implemented changes, then we haven’t done our job because that’s what we always do in the off-season.”
