MEXICO CITY (AP) — Joaquín Niemann of Chile secured his victory at the LIV Golf Mexico City 2025 tournament at Chapultepec Golf Club. Niemann’s final round score of 65 propelled him to a total of 16-under par, successfully defending his title on Mexican soil.
Niemann’s triumph in Mexico City marks his third victory of the season, following wins in Adelaide and Singapore. This win solidifies his position at the top of the individual standings in the LIV Golf professional circuit.
niemann began the final round trailing Bryson DeChambeau, who faltered on the back nine with a double bogey on the 13th hole and a bogey on the 14th. DeChambeau’s struggles contrasted sharply with his strong performance in the previous two days.
Cameron Smith, another contender in the lead group, also saw his position slip, eventually finishing in a tie for fifth place.
Niemann’s accuracy off the tee allowed him to consistently find the fairways, complemented by a sharp short game. Despite a bogey on the 14th hole, seven birdies propelled him to the top of the leaderboard.
