Hello, hello, hello, friends! It’s wonderful to be back!
I’m eager for some basketball in my life, and fortunately, we are only three weeks away from media day and the commencement of Utah Jazz training camp.
If you’re not constantly engaged on social media (like me) and aren’t keeping up with everyday posts, you might be curious about what the Jazz players have been doing recently.
Earlier in the summer, many players took vacations, albeit with workouts included in their plans. Taylor Hendricks ventured to Spain, Lauri Markkanen returned to Finland for several weeks, and Jordan Clarkson took his daughter to Disneyland. Numerous players also spent time in New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta for workout sessions and leisure activities.
However, the most significant point is the number of players who have remained in Utah for the majority of the summer, particularly the younger ones like Keyonte George, Hendricks, Isaiah Collier, Brice Sensabaugh, Cody Williams, and Kyle Filipowski. Even Walker Kessler and Collin Sexton dedicated ample time to training in Utah this summer, aside from when they were running drills with the Utes or attending football games.
Although we are still some weeks away from training camp, many other players have also started arriving in Salt Lake City to get a jump on preparations, including Markkanen and newcomers Svi Mykhailiuk and Patty Mills.
A number of Jazz personnel attended the U.S. Open at the end of August, including owner Ryan Smith, head coach Will Hardy, and Jordan Clarkson, who was there with his girlfriend, Maggie Lindemann. Many fans have spotted Jazz players at various events.
One thing is evident: prioritizing work has been key for everyone.

How to pass the time in the offseason
In recent weeks, I’ve been tackling various tasks that often get sidelined during the regular season. I’ve swapped out old light switches for dimmer ones, repaired the vacuum, cleaned carpets, hung curtains, patched wall holes, and replaced old towels. You understand the routine.
My summer months are dedicated to keeping life on track, from attending medical checkups to stocking up on essentials for the year. I resolve household issues, engage in DIY projects that I can’t address during the season, and even discover new ones that will have to be postponed until next offseason. Curiously, I also seem to encounter new injuries and health complaints (back spasms and broken teeth, I’m looking at you).
While I know you don’t share my schedule, and there’s no need for you to cram all these tasks into July and August, it genuinely feels rewarding when summer wraps up, and I can look back and see how much I’ve accomplished in a short timeframe.
