Derrick White recently experienced a surprising moment when a spinning backfist struck him in the head, according to newly released video footage from TMZ Sports. This incident seemed to arise while the NBA champion was showing support for his alma mater.
The Boston Celtics star and University of Colorado alumnus attended the intense rivalry game between the Buffaloes and Colorado State at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, proudly donned in CU attire. At first, it appeared that he was enjoying the game with no problems.
According to one witness who was present, during the second quarter, the player found himself in a heated exchange with several Rams fans as Deion Sanders and his team began to take control of the game.
In the third quarter, as it became apparent that White’s Buffs were on the verge of victory, the verbal confrontation escalated into violence. In our video, a man wearing a CSU hat and a Utah shirt was seen swinging his arm, striking White in the head.
The impact was so forceful that it knocked the hat off White’s head, leading to a significant brawl.
Many individuals rushed in to intervene. Although White was quickly removed from the situation, a chaotic scene ensued, with nearly a dozen people shoving, pushing, and wrestling each other in headlocks for several moments.
Fortunately, law enforcement arrived before the situation could escalate any further, leading to the dispersal of the crowd. It was reported that White was seen departing the area by climbing some nearby stairs.
