CERN Relay Race Returns for 53rd Edition, Celebrating Staff Association’s 70th Anniversary
Geneva –– The CERN Relay Race is set to return for its 53rd edition on Wednesday, May 14, bringing together runners, walkers, and the CERN community for a day of friendly competition and party. This year’s event will be followed by festivities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the CERN Staff Association.
Annual Race Kicks Off May 14th
The main race will commence at 12:15 p.m. in front of Building 40, followed by the walkers’ race and a children’s race organized with support from the Jardin des Particules nursery school.
Global participation Through CERN Alumni Network
For the second year, the CERN Alumni Network will participate through an online relay race challenge, allowing alumni from around the world to run the race distances in their respective locations. This offers a unique opportunity for CERN alumni to connect with the event,no matter where they are in the world.
Festive Atmosphere and Costume Contest
Various CERN clubs will showcase their activities, and a professional DJ will provide entertainment throughout the event. Participants are encouraged to participate in fancy dress, with a costume contest adding to the fun.
