Kai Havertz certainly played the role of pantomime villain at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
The Arsenal forward faced a chorus of boos from Chelsea fans as he aimed to make an impact against his former team. The German attacker appeared poised for the last laugh when he found the net in the first half, only for his celebration to be cut short by an offside flag.

John Obi Mikel not impressed by ‘Disrespectful’ Kai Havertz
Havertz’s celebration of the disallowed goal, which involved shushing the home crowd, further increased the ire directed towards him. John Obi Mikel expressed his disapproval on the Obi One Podcast, stating that he believed Havertz was being disrespectful toward a club for which he had achieved success.
“Looking back at it,” Mikel remarked, “if he wakes up this morning, I think adrenaline and passion got the better of him. But I still believe it’s disrespectful to a club you’ve played for and won trophies with.”
Mikel continued, “When I played for Chelsea, I wasn’t everyone’s favorite player. Certain fans didn’t appreciate me as much as they should have. But that never stopped me from loving the club and giving my all.
“If you leave a football club and return, score a goal, I think you should still show respect. You can celebrate, but not by shushing the fans. I don’t know his reason for doing it, but personally, I found it disrespectful.”
Chelsea Really Impressed by Nicolas Jackson
Chelsea fans seem to have accepted the departure of Havertz, who left Stamford Bridge for a hefty transfer fee in 2023. The Blues are thrilled with Nicolas Jackson, who has made a significant impact since joining them.
Jackson’s impressive performances have earned him a place ahead of top scorer Christopher Nkunku in the starting lineup, a situation that reportedly causes frustration for the French forward.
Reports indicate that Nkunku is concerned about his current playing time and unhappiness at Chelsea.
