The Phoenix Suns announced on Thursday that they have signed veteran big man Frank Kaminsky, along with forwards Mamadi Diakite and Moses Wood, to training camp contracts.
When training camp begins on Oct. 1, all three players will be vying for a spot on the roster.
Kaminsky has not played in the NBA since the 2022-23 season and is making a return to the Suns after previously playing for the team from 2019 to 2022.
During his three seasons with the Suns, the 31-year-old averaged 8.2 points on 46.8% shooting, contributing 4.3 rebounds per game. His final season with the team was limited to just nine games due to a right knee injury, which led to his being waived late in the regular season.
In the 2022-23 season, Kaminsky played for the Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks, averaging 2.5 points in a total of 36 games. Last season, he was overseas, playing in Serbia.
Diakite has experience in four NBA seasons, participating in 55 games with five teams after going undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft. He was part of the 2021 Milwaukee Bucks squad under the guidance of Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer. Last season, Diakite posted averages of 14.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 18 NBA G League games with the Westchester Knicks and Austin Spurs.
Wood participated in the NBA 2K25 Summer League 2024 with the Atlanta Hawks this past July. Throughout his collegiate career, which included stints at Washington, the University of Portland, UNLV, and Tulane, Wood averaged 10.5 points, shooting 44.1%, alongside 4.8 rebounds across 157 games.
Phoenix is set to launch the 2024-25 regular season on Oct. 23 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
