CHANDIGARH, March 27, 2025 – Government College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23-A, Chandigarh, successfully hosted its 10th Annual Athletic Meet today, featuring a range of competitive events and fun activities designed to promote teamwork and sportsmanship.
Inauguration with Education Secretary
The event commenced with an inauguration ceremony graced by IAS Prerna Puri, Education Secretary of the Chandigarh Management, as the chief guest. dr. Sapna Nanda, principal of the college, along with Dr. Anupama Kaushal, Dr. Sumant Batish, and senior faculty members, welcomed the chief guest.
Puri hoisted the college flag, followed by a march past and oath-taking ceremony by the athletes. Addressing the students, she shared her insights on the importance of sports in life and encouraged them to participate wholeheartedly.

Dr. Richa Rathi, Additional Director of Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration, served as the chief guest for the closing ceremony. She presented awards to the winners and congratulated them on their excited performances. Nitin Thakur was declared the best athlete (boys), and Mafi was declared the best athlete (girls).
Dr. Sumant Batish presented the annual sports report, highlighting the students’ achievements at various levels. Senior faculty member Rajiv Uppal delivered the vote of thanks, and the event concluded with the national anthem.
